I started out my weekend watching the end of the first season of The Pretender from Netflix with some more good homemade food (couscous and butternut squash). It made a good in-between from the week to the weekend, nice and relaxing.
Then I got up early and went with a friend to the Oregon Flock and Fiber festival. This was my first time going to any sort of festival with a knitting focus, and so it was really a cool experience! We went to the Blue Moon both first off, and got some mill ends and a rare gem and a little regular yarn, too. There were sheep and a lot of roving/spinning stuff, too, which I'm not into yet. There were tons of super booths, and I found some other must-have sock yarn at a place I hadn't heard of. We visited McMenamins on our way home, and I hadn't been there before.
Saturday afternoon, we headed over to my parents for a family dinner, with a nice healthy meal. We got to see almost the whole family and that was nice.
And then Sunday morning, we did some of the ideas we had for last weekend when I wasn't feeling well. Started out the day at Sweet Tomatoes for breakfast, YUM... Linen & Things was going out of business, so we hoped to find a food dryer, but no luck, they were all gone. But I got a curtain rod for my closet/dressing area/makeup room now that some curtains aren't up in my guest room. They are putting in a huge Toys R Us out there after the old one closed and we amazed at that.
We hadn't been to the Farmers market in a few weeks and we get such nice veges and fruits when we go there. So we went and grabbed some great stuff. And then waited for the library to open at noon and ended up being there during the bag sale. A paper bag full of books for $2, you can't beat that, and we ended up with 11 new-to-us VHS videos, woo!
To finish off the day, we went to see Eagle Eye, which I'd been wanting to see since I first saw the preview. Finally, we found a little bakery so I could have the bagel I was craving. It was a great weekend with good Eric time :)
